The Forth Rail Bridge
The Forth Rail Bridge taken on a blustery overcast day. The boat in the picture was pulling strongly at it's moorings and the strong wind was very cold.
The Forth Rail Bridge was completed on 21st January 1890.
When it was built it was the largest cantilever bridge construction in the world, and was the first ever all steel bridge construction in the United Kingdom. It is over 2.5km long and 100m high. The span remains the second largest for a cantilever bridge over 120 years after its construction.
