Plan Dam

Breaking in the new boots today with a walk up to the Plan Dam behind Kilbirnie. Great views right along the coast - Irvine, Ayr, Girvan and on a clear day Ailsa Craig. If you look inland you can see Lochwinnoch, Paisley and Glasgow. I love it up there I grew up in the area and have spent a lot of my time wandering around here. It always amazes me that when you go up North to the more popular hills it can be as busy as Sauchiehall Street, I was out here today wandered around for 3 hours and covered 10 miles and never saw one other soul - bliss!

This view is looking up to the Spout of the Garnock - close to the source of the River Garnock - another great walk.
