snapped by a curious mind

From the trail

Today we are leaving Colorado, but not until we ride this lovely Mineral Belt Trail one more time - it takes about an hour.

The blip shows Leadville from the trail, although I also took pictures of the trail itself and of some old mine contraptions (the trail goes through plenty of abandoned mines, and some gorgeous pine forests, and that keeps it interesting even when uphill)

In the end we have ridden it 5 days in a row, and hey, that's not nothing for someone who had not ridden a bike in 4 years... I rode 5x12miles at 10000 feet. This is scary, I might end up fit :S

I have never been one for suffering or exercise, gym machines bore me, gymnastics at school weren't my thing AT ALL (especially as they do it in swiss schools where you are supposed to do things - from bars to team sports- but are never taught how).

On the other hand I am not lazy and I have always loved the outdoors, cycling a trail is not just exercise, and therefore I enjoy it. The same goes for hiking, mountain climbing, all sorts of skiing, sailing, and other sea activities.

I guess it is not a holiday for me unless I have spent enough time outdoors, although walking through city streets or sipping a drink on a terrace also qualify.

Long drive to my relatives' home now - although we will try one trail on the way to get some air and work our driving cramps out.

If you missed my other holiday images here's a list up to today:
