Kestrel

This male kestrel was hunting conveniently close to the footpath at Abbotsbury Beach. Kestrels hover while hunting, adjusting their wingbeat to keep their heads perfectly still. In life it is difficult to see the fine detail on the underside of their wings; the light was good enough to capture it today.
