Bush Tit
I counted birds today, but bush tits come in a rush of feathers as tiny little birds swarm the suet feeder. They flit, they fly, they swoop in like tiny dive bombers and then off they go. I guessed at 20. Good enough. I submitted this photo to the Great Backyard Bird Count website.
I heard hawks and then, high up above the fir trees, I saw three hawks but I don't know what they are...sharp-shinned or red-tailed. So, I didn't count them.
Danger! Danger! An ominous shadow circling, on the hunt for lunch.
A mixed bag day of sprinkles, sun, breezy conditions, perhaps a thunderstorm....but that hasn't happened yet. Unsettled late winter/early spring conditions...
