Shadows and palaces

This is The Palace of the Kings of Majorca, in Perpignan, and a splendid place it is too.
The Kings of Majorca and their courtly hangers-on were clearly hardier than we 21st-century types. The place is a huge structure at the top of a hill, and it's windier indoors than you could possibly believe.
We were gawping at this room with the sun behind us, trying to warm our backs, so the silhouettes were very tempting.
