Gorse in the city?

I was surprised at finding this on two counts. First, I didn't realise that gorse flowered at the time of the year.

Second, it's not what I would have expected to find growing in a flower bed (of sorts) across from Buchanan Street bus station.

It's city gorse with street experience, so I'm reckoning it'll be even pricklier than the rural gorse...
