La Sainte-Chapelle
Saint-Chapelle is really spectacular, even more so than I remembered - these amazing towering walls of stained glass and every surface painted in rich blues and golds. We went there first and then had a wander around the Ile St. Louis and over to the Jardin Des Plantes, where we ate our picnic in a funny little iron summer house in the middle of 'Le Labyrinthe'. Unfortunately the mosque was closed for lunch: we had to potter about on the Left Bank instead - the old market areas of the 'Monge' and the 'Mouff' - and then head back to the river for posh Café au Lait at Le Flore en L'Ile.
