The pail

Today's the day ........................ for an old photograph

I was telling someone today about how my Dad had been a keen (and very good) photographer in his younger days - and that reminded me of this old photograph that we have hanging in the house.

It's a picture of me when I was about two or three taken by my Dad and probably developed and printed by him as well. It was taken when we were on holiday, staying in a holiday house in Lamlash on the Isle of Arran. He told me that he had entered it in a photographic competition and it had got third prize. He had given it the title of The pail because that's what everything in the picture was focused on - my gaze, the dog's gaze and the lines of shadow from the bench. He was obviously very pleased with it.

Different technology today of course - but I bet he would have made a good blipper if blipfoto had been around then ..................
