Saltmarsh and nature reserve - Lincs.
To make a start to the day and blow away a few cobwebs I drove to this nearby reserve. It is approached by a little bridge which spans this area of water and I paused to enjoy the view and look toward the dune system. From the carpark there are number of routes into and around the dunes with viewing platforms for wildlife spotting. It was pretty cold and a sharp breeze was blowing. That suited me very well but I didn't do much standing around.
I do admire the Lincolnshire landscape, I love the big skies and the huge flat expanses of apparently empty fields. In the afternoon I drove to Lincoln and the route is proof enough that Lincolnshire is not all flat. The Wolds provide a wonderfully undulating landscape. The road which turns and twists and swoops and dives provides an exciting route but great care is needed and there are constant reminders to be aware of bikes which can appear out of no-where.
