6000 Tons Block

What you see here is the biggest crane hook in the world. It is the big block hook of our crane vessel Thialf and it is positioned in front of our head office. Why? I have no clue. The block looks still good to me, so no reason to dispose it in a pond in front of our office. The Safe Working Load of this block is 6000 T and the weight of the hook itself is 60 Tons.
