STAGHORN SUMAC
ANOTHER COLD DAY WHERE NOTHING OR NO ONE WAS OUT. IN CONNECTICUT THE WILD LIFE JUST DOESN'T SEEM TO WANT TO SHOW THEMSELVES UNTIL IT'S A BIT WARMER. SO I FOUND MYSELF LOOKING FOR THE WARMTH OF COLOR. I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT THIS WAS POISON SUMAC, A TREE LIKE PLANT THAT WOULD CAUSE AN AWFUL BLISTERY RASH. I, HOWEVER WAS MISTAKEN. IT IS AN STAGHORN SUMAC AND IS NOT POISONOUS AT ALL. THAT WILL MAKE IT ALL THE MORE EASIER WHEN I ASK MY HUSBAND TO REMOVE SOME FROM OUR PROPERTY SO WE CAN PLANT PEACH TREES INSTEAD.
