OK, so this must be my latest Blip to date time wise (excluding my Back Blips from the holidays)
Today was my 25th Birthday yet again!Work was calling and since it was mid term, the ladies running the learning course over the last few months weren't in the building. So, no artwork to photograph.
I managed to keep quiet about it being my birthday today until one of the members dad's came into visit at lunchtime.He had seen some messages on my Facebook. He stood behind my chair and demanded I stand up saying'I have waited a long time for this!!' Refusing to obey his command, he eventually gave the game away.
Members started leaving the room.What had I done wrong?Had I offended this gentleman and everyone else into the bargain?Slowly they began to return and all was made clear.Members had gone to the cafe on site and came back armed with chocolate, the staff came back into the room singing and holding a chocolate cake complete with candles .I was presented with a card signed by everyone in attendance and a little speech was made which I was very touched by.These are moments to treasure.
Tonight, hubby took me out for a slap up, five course meal, to a local restaurant in a little village called Romaldkirk, not far from Eggleston Hall, where 'Ladette to Lady' was filmed.The service was top notch and the food was as good as I have tasted.After a relaxing coffee and home made fudge by the open fire in the lounge, we headed home.
Thank goodness these occasions don't come around too often.I so dislike being the centre of attention.BUT it is so lovely to know that people actually took the time out of their day to phone, write letters, send cards, message on Facebook , and generally share in my day.
