Lipstick, Powder and Paint.
I know sometimes I only have myself to blame...
Take a recent first meeting with a potential beau. I was a bit tight for time so like most busy women I put my make up on whilst driving to the venue - After all we all know women only use their rear view mirror to check their lipstick, and those regulars to my journal will know that lippy is everything to me. But I digress.
I arrived at the meeting place - a pub, exactly on time, and the guy was waiting in the car park for me. I jumped out of the car and we walked together into the pub.
He was tall and better looking than I'd anticipated, but he seemed a little uneasy as we approached the bar, staring at me, yet unable to maintain eye contact.
I noticed one or two other people watching us and thought smugly to myself:
"Wow, we must make a good looking couple."
After a few minutes of stilted conversation he leaned towards me and asked:
"Do you always wear blue make up on your cheeks?"
"Sorry?"
"You have blue cheeks"
"Really?"
I took out my handbag mirror and looked at my reflection. Yup, you've guessed it, pink eye shadow and blue blusher.
Despite my explanation that this little palate of powders had let me down in the dark, he wasn't convinced a second meeting would be a good idea!!
I can't say I blame him.
