Turning Point

On Yer Bike!

On our way home we stopped at Wolftrax in Laggan. Jill and I enjoyed chatting over a bowl of soup instead of hiring mountain bikes and taking on the 18 km of track. I love cycling - just not when I'm so fat. These legs belong to one of the many participating women who put me to shame, and are clothed in Strathmashie forest track style!

I was given a Puch road bicycle as an engagement present at the age of eighteen and became a 'keen to please my husband cyclist'. We spent many hours exploring Inverclyde and island hopping around Argyll. Cycling accessories were accumulated to accommodate a growing brood until we could no longer keep up. A few years later, I lost my driving licence for three months (I was speeding), and relied on my bike and have never looked or felt better. There was also a concentrated spell when Lucie and I used to take off along the coast and into the hills of Tayside and Fife . In the winter our feet would freeze - we could have done with these foot warmers then.

I must get back on my bike.
