River Tay
Enjoyed a wonderful day in Perthshire, where we are staying for a couple of nights with some friends. While the girls went shopping the boys had a great time at the Clay Pigeon Shooting, honing their skills or, in my case, trying to learn some of the basics!
In the afternoon we had hoped to cast a few lines on the Tay, however the ghillie who we hoped to meet was off and we had to settle for a walk instead. The Tay is a truly majestic river and its amazing the number of salmon that are still caught on it. Plans were hatched to hopefully return in a few months time for all of us, girls included, to have a days fishing.
Today's blip is taken looking east down the Tay towards an old iron bridge and the anglers bothy, which is in a wonderful spot and can be seen better in LARGE.
I decided on black and white for the shot as I felt the picture had a Victorian look about it. I think its the boat and the bridge that conjures up that era to me, or maybe just the sense of stepping back in time!
