Hospital Bob
This is hospital Bob. He belongs to my godson Joe who 2 years ago when we were holidaying in Spain became very poorly, although we didn't know how poorly until we got back to the UK. He had an infection in the bone in his neck which caused to bone to erode which if it hadn't been treated could have damaged the spinal cord.
The hospital in Spain was a complete nightmare, more like a prison, where they were crammed in a tiny room didn't have any food, and worst of all didn't even have any doctors that worked on a weekend. He was admitted on the Friday nght and had no-one there to see them. He was in the hospital for 3 days and he hadn't been treated so his Dad Derek rightly or wrongly discharged him as we were due to go home within a couple of days. At this point noone knew what was wrong.
They took him to UK hospital as soon as we touched down on the plane and they were great. It took them a while to find out what was wrong and how to treat him - apparently it is very rare. He was in hospital for 3 months. He's 3 now and is great - no more illnesses thank god.
Anyway hospital Bob was given to Joe while he was in Mercia hospital and is a constant reminder of what happened.
Sorry I've rambled a bit.
