world in a grain of sand

cafe life

Sisters - probably my favourite word in the English language. One of mine has come to help me through my convalescence, and we ended up in this gallery/cafe in Woodstock this morning - quite my longest walk so far. We'd looked at the much reduced clothes in one of the smart clothes shops, found a 50th birthday card for a friend, scoured the charity shop (always best to go to charity shops in posh places I find) and talked a lot.
I love my sisters because we have a shared history and the shorthand speech that results from that. I know I can always rely on them. I loved seeing the sisterhood develop between my daughters and knowing that although they sometimes infuriate each other they have that feeling of clanship together . And I love the sisterhood that sometimes develops with friends, where there's a deep, mutual trust - and usually a lot of humour too.
