Chinese New Year Decoration
Chinese New Year is celebrated by all the Chinese people from all over the world every year. On New Year's Eve, we do cleaning and decoration. In the evening, all the family gather together and watch the big show on CCTV1, eat dumplings and share all the happy moments.
Chinese New Year was from January 22nd to February 6th this year.On the twenty- second, Kevin and I did some cleaning together, even though it was not his job because he's not Chinese. Then I bought some fireworks and something for decoration in a small street market.
I'm sorry everyone because I forgot how to say the thing on the door in English and I couldn't be bothered to ask. I'll just call it "The Red Luck". Kevin and I sticked " The Red Luck" onto the door together. Usually, we put " Fu" - the big charactor in the middle up- side- down, because " Fu" means happiness and luck, and up-side-down in Chinese is " Dao", which has another meaning- arrive. So it means " Happinesses and good luck will arrive next year." It's problly confusing you.Hehe.
The right sentence says: " A happy family lives in peace. " The left sentence says: " A lucky door opens for happinesses." I hope our new year will be like what it says on there. Wish us good luck.
P.S. I want to thank all of you for all the comments on last night's picture. Thank you for supporting and encouraging me. I'm glad to get to know you guys here.
