graceful gulls...

...landing on the ice

typically they're flying so fast... or far away from me - i'm not even able to get one gull - so when i uploaded my shots today, i kept staring at this... counting - 1, 2... 1, 2... yes, that's right... 1, 2... how funny - i know there's 2 gulls here but just couldn't seem to grasp i'd actually been blessed to capture both of them - coming in for a landing onto the ice on the lake... wings spread in a glorious umbrella of expansion to slow them down as they hit solid mass...

lots of geese flying around - as well as ducks, too... i had many pictures to chose from but kept coming back to this one... it might not be the best - but represents a moment that is choice for me - special - one that causes you to gasp with pleasure because it came to be - when usually you are so unfortunate - and that has made for...
