And you came back to me .....

When an Officer and a Gentleman came out, we wore out the Video Shop's copy.

We knew it inside out. The two boys in our flat tolerated our occupancy of the couch, and permanent use of the video recorder. We adored Richard Gere.

I took the video out when I went home and watched - my dad came home from golf, took one look at me howling on the couch, heard me say, "one day, a sailor will come back for me", and he said, "no they won't, they never do, a girl in every port".

But mine did. He did come back for me, and he stayed.

I'm impossible to live with some times, my mouth can be a potty, and my behaviour outrageous, but I never, ever doubt his love for me, and I hope, and I pray, that despite everything he tolerates that he doesn't doubt mine for him.

I could list his faults, because of course he does have them... but without them, he wouldn't be mine. and he is mine, forever and ever. (he can't escape I hid his passport)
