A day of extremes

Fun stuff -
going to the Cinema to watch the Muppet Movie, when I was chuffed to see Dave Grohl with a cameo part.

James singing this to me, in the voice, on the way to and from the cinema - had to ask him to stop because he was making me giggle so much.

Annoying stuff -
the two grown women and 4 children who sat on the same row of seats as us and hadn't paid the full price, as they loudly announced "If the real ticket holders come, we'll have to move" - annoying, as I had paid an extra couple of quid per ticket to sit in the big comfy seats and that normally guarantees a peaceful experience away from people who would annoy me.

Nope, not today. Not only did they not pay for those seats, but one of the mothers and one of the children got up no less than 7 times during the movie and walked directly across our viewing experience. The final time, the girl stood directly in front of me, leaning on the seat in front, watching whilst she was waiting for annoying mother to get something out of her bag. I'm afraid my leg accidentally twitched when the mother walked past, and made contact. I apologised, although I think the sarcasm was clearly felt!

Not very exciting stuff -
4 hours of work this evening, trying to get a load of data analysis done so that I have at least one full day to have a run at another major planning job that I need to do.

stuff to make me panic
the realisation this evening that I had dropped a clog, so to speak, when making some exam submissions last week. 7 students entered, 6 of them accurately. One of them, wrong grade for one unit and the other unit is completely the wrong one.
After contacting our examiner, looks like it is fairly straighforward to resolve, but will have to wait until her visit at the end of the month

virtuous stuff
Despite a busy day, still cooked a healthy meal and managed 35 minutes on the cross trainer.

That final point might make up for the fact that over a dozen cakes are being delivered tomorrow for my personal consumption in honour of the impending birthday.
