Hamish and I raced up to the Cairngorms this morning in order for it to be worth our while buying an afternoon ski lift pass for H. It turned out that there were none to be had. Someone mentioned that 2000 passes had already been sold and that this is the maximum number issued. It's half term so we should have guessed.
We are here in the Scottish Highlands with two other families who wish to snub the inordinate prices being charged at European ski resorts this week. It feels great to be supporting oor ain folk and it appears that we're not alone! We'll need to be up very early to queue for passes - lets hope it's orderly.
H has had the camera for most of the day and my only opportunity to blip was when we all gathered together for supper. I hadn't checked the settings and left it until the eleventh hour to upload the blurred images. Time was running out and I had no decent photo or internet connection but we managed to get a slow, weak signal through the iPhone and this was uploaded at 11:59 and 45 seconds. I could have shot a magnum opus in these surroundings.
An afterthought - Ski Scotland is not so cheap at almost £13 for a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc in the hotel bar (not mine M. Dukan!).
