Cloisters

Stopped off at the gorgeous picture postcard village of Lacock on our way back from Devon. The whole village is beautifully preserved and is recognisable from many BBC dramas.

I am a sucker for a cloister...maybe I was more religious than I am now in a former life! I love the way the light comes in and the delicacy of the vaulting. Lacock Abbey cloisters were small but lovely, with paint remaining on the roof bosses too. Harry Potter fans may spot this location from a couple of the films (Hedwig and snow!) ..and the resultant hysterical children racing around the cloisters was rather at odds with the beauty and serenity of the Abbey.
