Long John Silver of the Feathered Variety

I have been taking some photos of the birdlife in the garden again today when this little fella suddenly landed on the patio right in front of the window. It soon became apparent that the poor little chaffinch only had one leg and every now and again kept losing his balance! Poor thing, hope he manages ok!
I went upstairs a bit later on and when I looked out of my bedroom window there was a sparrowhawk sitting in a tree at the back of our garden. Of course, by the time I ran downstairs to grab my camera, the flipping thing had flown off!! Curses!
There is a hive of activity going on upstairs now, because both my girls are off to their youth group's Valentine Ball tonight so they're getting all dolled up along with a few friends! No doubt there'll be lots of photos of tonights event to peruse later on facebook! Eldest daughter has bought some nice chocs and a card for her boyfriend and youngest is over the moon that the boy she fancies is going tonight!!! So there may be romance in the air for both my girls tonight!! Hehehe!!
