I wanna get off

Down by the Star of Nanchang (see the day before yesterday's blip) there's a tiny little amusement park with a few rides. This part of Nanchang has undergone quite a lot of development in recent years. There's now an international exhibition centre, a tennis club, an outdoor swimming pool with wave machine, and a restaurant and bar area, as well as many apartment buildings. Not many people are living in this area yet though so the businesses are not doing as well as they should. Hopefully as more people move in the area will take off. It certainly has the potential to be a great place.

Today was a grey miserable day so it was difficult to get decent photos of the area (will wait for a sunny day and try again) but wandering around the park I noticed the roller-coaster start up and caught the cars going round the loop. As you can see it is tiny, but the woman was screaming her head off. When she and her partner got off the ride she could barely walk. I wonder was she really scared or whether she was just trying to encourage her beau to be her knight in shining armour so to speak.

Bizarrely Jiangxi province, of which Nanchang is the capital, has a population of approx 40 million yet no decent white knuckle theme park/amusement park. Though anyone who's taken a taxi here will probably testify that the experience is somewhat comparable.
