View from A Rowing Club
We went to a 90th birthday celebration for Frank, renowned and curmudgeonly but much loved rowing coach, at another rowing club from ours. (There are 3 on Lake Union) This is the view from the 2nd floor deck where the party was...in HDR. Turn right down the ship canal and you will be at the locks and then into Puget Sound. Turn left to Lake Union. The big bridge (sometimes known as the "suicide bridge") is the one we see from our roof deck.....it used to be the main artery to downtown Seattle... before the freeway. It will eventually be connected to a tunnel by the waterfront. A different angle for me - I liked these curves....
Some rowers made up a cute song for Frank...."You're doin' Ninety"
One verse went.. "Sometimes when we're rowing it don't feel right;
We rush the slide and grip the oars too tight.
When we get slow an' we're tarryin'
We need advice from our favorite nonagenarian
Watch your wake, old man, you're doin' ninety."
