Winter Hill Fell Race
Bleak, bleak day for the race. Still lots of ice around which made it difficult work for the hardy beasts that set out on this 11 mile fell race over Winter Hill with 2.700ft of climbing. IWC and Blackrodlad gave good accounts of themselves having both completed the Amble (24 miles) yesterday. Great to catch up with folks and a fine job done by the marshals, the Race Organiser and Mountain Rescue. Low cloud made route finding difficult even for the locals and quite a few went astray. The light didn't help those just watching and taking snaps either! Decided to go with B&W version of a couple of local runners starting the climb up to the trigpoint at the summit.
