Meldrum Petrospheres

Only noticed that these had been put in place when I was at the chippy in Meldrum last night - turns out they actually went in back in December - guess they are usually hidden behind parked cars. Anyway, the three Meldrum petrospheres, inspired by various smaller bronze age petrospheres, these are a new piece of public art in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire .

Interestingly, the planning permission was for three granite petrospheres ... but we actually have one granite, one gneiss and one gabbro one :)

I like them and I'm sure they'll be the subject of many future photos.
