Asparagus

I planted over 50 asparagus plants in a newly dug bed perennial in the allotments. These one year old root transplants of the Connover's Colossal variety of asparagus will start producing in a few years time. It is going to be a long wait.

I was intrigued by the difference in color of the soil stuck to the spidery roots and the darker color of the soil in the transplant bed behind.
