tryin' to get to heaven

the miracle that is Lourdes

I try and persuade Lourdes to take the day off on Sundays but she insists on coming over and washing the dishes, cleaning the kitchen and making my bed. Then, thismorning she started washing the floors and squirting a few "produtos" to remove the "noduas". At the time, I was testing the the floor fans to see what repairs were needed and she persuaded me to take the protective covers off so that she could dust them and I could oil them. She said that my mother wouldn't like the smell of the oil in the house when she comes on Thursday, so here she is beavering away on her day off spraying and polishing and rust removing hell for leather - outside.

The rest of the morning I spent getting to know the tractor a little better, battling to remove the collection box and replace it with the grass cutter which, of course has differently spaced connection points so spanners and physical strength are required in a wrestle for superiority! Thismorning the tractor won on points but there will be a rematch after the rugby thisafternoon!

Now, having lunched, I am waiting apprehensively for the Wales v Scotland match which Wales should win, the way they have been playing. But there are so many slips and incidents and errors (yellow cards, red cards, injuries etc) which make these games unpredictable and keep us on the edge of our seats.
