Lemons and crisis

This lemon tree grows on the steep hillside just below my sister's house. Nearby, the almond trees are in blossom, the olive leaves glow greeny-silver, waiting to produce fruit and oil later in the year, and a bit lower down are fig trees. Oregano, thyme and rosemary grow wild.
This stony, hard soil produces tomatoes, peppers, chillis, squash, leeks, onions, garlic and a host of green vegetables. We ate fresh broccoli this evening, along with eggs laid within metres of the house.
In the towns, laden lemon and orange trees line the streets. They are in everyone's gardens. Fruit falls onto the road and is crushed by cars. Some people tidy it into piles to rot.

There are not very many financial institutions here.

Greece is in crisis. I am perplexed.
