Extremely cold out there today, and the ice is more treacherous than ever. The forecast is for another cold night, but they promise the temperature will start rising soon.

Saw some more Lapwings - maybe even including the one I blipped the other day? But also this cute little Golden Plover. My bird book says they often flock with Lapwings - well there wasn't much flocking happening, but they were in the same field today.

Although they are essentially wading birds, they have much shorter bills than most other waders, so confine themselves to eating worms and beetles (not seen many of them lately).
