... in search of a white rabbit

Alice Bruce went down a rabbit hole in search of a white rabbit!......

Lovely walk today as it was so mild and there was a noticeable increase in birdsong and, from the antics of the dogs, lots of enticing new smells. At one stage they both became very interested in some particular bushes and I think that deer had maybe passed through as a little bit further on and down the hill I caught sight of two white bobtails disappearing into the woods. The resourceful pair did give chase at one stage but I think they were merely chasing rainbows in the form of a strong scent as the deer had vanished. Towards the end of the walk Bruce always dashes off to a favourite sniffing area where rabbits often frequent, but usually I can entice him away quite quickly. Not today, as you can see from the blip. It was so funny as he was making excited squeaking noises from the depth of his earthy hole and wagging his tail furiously the further he dug himself in. Eventually I had to haul him out otherwise he would definitely have found his prey, and I knew I could not cope with a scared rabbit being plonked at my feet.

Once home he was definitely back in the Belfast sink for a good wash, while Cara stood by gently wagging her tail as if to confirm that today she was the angel!

While all this was going on I had a text message from my daughter to say that they were well on their way. Certainly past the icy blackspots of southern and midland England. A relief. I will try and post over the next week but may not be able to keep up to date with comments.

Thank you all who dropped by to see the mossy jewels yesterday and gave hearts and stars. I'm delighted you loved them too.

Hope you have a good week-end.
