State Lifesaving Championships

Today Cottesloe Beach hosted the State Championship for Western Australian Surf Lifesavers.

The competition consisted of beach races, an extended swim, surf board races and a belt race. Later in the day they will have a theory test on resuscitation etc.

These swimmers are waiting for the starter's whistle which will see them swim out to the old pylon and along the beach some way before returning to shore.

The more I often I go to the beach looking for a blipfoto the more I appreciate what has been going on before my eyes for so long.

There are so many activities on the beach it is such a great place for young and old alike....I sit in between !!!
