Out for the Count

Alexander resisted his nap today, and while I went to make the dinner he conked out....

We had another damp specialist out today - this time from the insurance company. Good news is none of the huge job that I was told needed doing actually needs doing. Nor has my damp-proof course disintegrated.
Slightly less good news is I do have some damp - but it had been caused by the leak, so it won't get worse, and if I wanted it could be dried out with heaters and dehumidifiers, but I could have the plaster replaced for quickness. But it's not such a big job and I do have a valid insurance claim.

Not such good news is the offer on my house for part exchange has finally come through and they have dropped £2500 from their original offer, but we still have to pay for the work done on our house first. Have a distinct feeling I'm being diddled here.

But then, Alexander isn't poorly as far as I can tell so that's a plus.

I think we may be sort of quits by the end of today.
