The power of Twitter reaches a new level

I've often commented on how Twitter is becoming influential in every walk of life and Wednesday evening was no different. With The FA having parted company with Fabio Capello only hours previously, it was still very much in the headlines.

During the FA Cup replay between Middlesbrough and Sunderland, ITV deemed it necessary to broadcast Wayne Rooney's Tweet (a reaction to Capello's departure) on a ticket at the bottom of the screen.

Nothing too major, but I think it backs up further, how powerful Twitter is, not only in the realms of social networking, but in the media as well as most other aspects of life.
