North-South Divide

Fresh snow fell overnight and froze. The spaniel and I had a wonderful long early morning walk. I then zipped over to Glynde for another walk, across the South Downs to Lewes via Mount Caburn, with the Sussex Wildlife Trust ranger. We had knee deep snow on the tops where we watched pairs of ravens circling and cronking. Lots of redwing and filedfare around too. Then we plunged down into Southerham where I was struck by the contrast between the north and south facing slopes of the dry chalk valley. All in all a superb day. I could get used to this not working on Friday's business, although after seven hours on the go my dodgy knee was screaming "enough!"
