Strange Patterns

Marlane called me to look out of the window at the different patterns on our car bonnets after last nights bit of snow.
I know why the Rover 25 has the triangular patterns, this is the pattern of the ribs on the underside of the bonnet.
I have no idea why the MX-5 has those dots all over it, the underside of the bonnet has insulation material for soundproofing so maybe that is where it is attached to the bonnet.

We don't tend to get much snow here in Gloucester, UK. The other day we had our first of 2012 and that lasted less than 24 hours. Last nights was quite light as you can see.
Sorry rest of of the country which is shrouded in white, we would love some more of it here so we can all go tobaggining. Maybe over the weekend, I'll watch out for the forecast.
