Blip 100, a day in Paradise.

Next stop over, Grand Caymen ,a truly tropical paradise and the perfect setting to celebrate 100 days of Blipping.
Our first coach stop was at Tikki Beach, part of Seven Mile beach. While we settled to sip our cocktails on our sunloungers, the younger generation went exploring and came back armed with a pile of white coral which they had found to look at.After observing the marine life in the clear blue waters, tying Leo's bikini top to her lounger as a practical joke, posing for a few mad photos with their finds,we boarded the bus again arriving in Hell itself!
This was a spot where you could get a postcard sent with a stamp from Hell. Here there are strange geological formations. It is thought the island was once a volcano.
Moving on , we sampled some of the local rum cake and vanilla and pineapple rum, well at least the male members of my family did their best to consume everything on offer.
Last stop was at the observatory, where we were able to experience a panoramic view of the coastline.Three storeys high, the observation tower was embellished with the most stunning mosaics of sealife.
Once back at ground level. we went to see some fountains playing in a nearby square surrounded by upmarket cafes and bars. But wait a minute , where were our wards? We had lost Leo and Fraz!Eventually we found them sunning themselves on a double hammock on a tiny adjoining island.
Grand Cayman is a tax haven and as such, was relatively affluent. This is somewhere I would like to return to.
We caught the last tender back to the ship. That evening we had booked a meal in the Italien restaurant on board, to take part in a Murder Mystery evening. We were served champagne and canapes prior to our meal.Scott made a fine Louis the Liizard and the cast had us in stitches at their antics.
To finish an exceptional day, we went up on deck to an organised midnight buffet called 'Dancing under the Stars.'We were still reeling from our dinner upstairs, so found ourselves unable to partake of the goodies on offer.Itwas billed as a Toga night, so bed linen was in evidence. We chatted with some Australian friends we had made before retiring for the night. What a day!
