Jenkin Crag, Cumbria

Weather crisp and sunny, very cold and very icy. Set out from the hotel after a hearty breakfast and travelled to Ambleside from where we climbed Jenkin Crag before descending into Troutbeck and then walked to Orrest Head, where we had a wonderful view of Lake Windermere and the surrounding mountains.

After our walk we had a good dinner at the hotel, and then were entertained by a singer who was quite good. We had our piper with us and he played some tunes on the pipes and we had some dances, much to the surprise of the singer, who had never seen 'Strip the Willow' danced before. It was great fun and very energetic. Headed for bed exhausted but happy.
