Temperatures are so cold at the moment that by morning, the water in the bird feeder has frozen solid.

Yesterday, the feathered visitors had made such a mess that there were lots of seeds frozen into the slab of ice I loosened from the dish, so I decided to leave it out on the wall as an experiment - it wasn't long before this dunnock (please correct me if I'm wrong!) popped over to see what this circle of ice was all about.

It's going to be fun to see how long it is before it melts!
