Footsteps

"Keep your head up! Stop looking at the sidewalk!" I still hear my da as we both walked to Jack's candy store when I was nine years old.

My dad left this world in February, 1981 and I've tried to follow his lead throughout my life, but my darn artsy side breaks through often enough to remind me of the bypassed beauty that lies south of the chin line.

So dad, listen up! Don't forget to look down once in awhile! Love you...always.
