MIMO

The main street to a hotel, where I had planned to meet friends, was temporarily closed. A local man will marry tomorrow.
The first stage of a marriage is to have the men gather to listen to the Qoran outside the bridegrooms family home....The sound is haunting, melodic and resonated through the cool, Luxor, winter air.

I followed the sound and was confronted by a makeshift curtain, separating the men gathered, the Imam and myself...It was a private affair.

I looked to the left and there under a street lamp, where a group of about 12 lads playing marbles in the street.....This happy chappy, was streets ahead of all of them. His personality, laughter and charm, lit the area they played in.

Isn't this is what life is all about?....:-)
