Venetian Mask

Carnivale is Venice's internationally famous social event. I have never actually been lucky enough to be in Venice at Carnivale, but there are plenty of intriguing clues to it scattered around the shops in the side streets. And yes, in the middle of August, Venice is incredibly hot, and a bit fuggy, but that does not put a dent in the romance of the place.
