The First Step

I began a new job as a hotel front desk clerk today. It's a pretty snazzy establishment that also has a conference and banquet center. I am hoping to gather up some experience and eventually work my way up to an event coordinating type of position. After so many mis-steps in the past few years, it feels incredible to be moving towards what I really want to do. It makes me wish I could remember the moment I took my first step as a child.

This is one of the signs that Spatial and Laughing made for me to find when I awoke this morning. Each of us has started a new job in the past couple of weeks, and each of our "first days on the job" has been christened with these cheerful signs.

This one made me laugh out loud this morning.
