Aspen trees! There was Ribes inerme there, the gooseberry we've been searching for... but not enough. And now I'm thinking we've misidentified R. inerme as R. oxyacanthoides several times; we just can't tell if it's not in flower. Guess that's up to next year's folk.
I was stuck between this and the pretty sego lily.
edit! oleG asked recently where these pictures are taken. They are taken generally within a 2 hour drive of Rawlins, Wyoming (which, if you're feeling stalkerish, you can find on The Google).
