Composition No 483: Ecuador

My grandfather travelled in Ecuador in the 1920's. He was to all accounts a prospector, seeking precious metal. Found these artifacts amongst my mothers estate.
I have no idea what they are although the faded photo shows a local wearing the silver pin .................
