This was taken in princes street gardens at the west end ,underneith the castles esplanade in edinburgh.

The gardens at the west end are statue of poet Allan Ramsay, obstetric pioneer James Young Simpson, as well as the Scottish American War Memorial, the Ross Fountain and Bandstand, and a popular floral clock.

The castles esplanade is the home to the edinburgh militry tattoo.
The gatehouse at the head of the Esplanade was built as an architecturally cosmetic addition to the castle in 1888. Statues of Robert the Bruce and William Wallace were added in 1929
