Whose Shoes?

I took a walk along a different section of beach today in search of a good vantage point for shooting the Burj Al Arab, and happened upon these lonely little fellas in the process. Not exactly uncommon for a pair of sandals to be on the beach I hear you say?! And I would agree. However, the weird part is that there was nobody around, not a soul in sight. And furthermore - no footprints in the sand either. Hmmm. Alien abduction? Spontaneous human combustion?
